2. AN EVENING OF HOT JAZZ AND WESTERN SWING MUSIC

Where/When: Presbyterian Church of Chatham Twp, 240 Southern Blvd. Chatham, NJ 07928; April 2, 2011 at 8 p.m.

Why Go: The Hot Club of Cowtown, a sassy trio, will play western swing and jazz music.

3. "A TASTE OF SUMMIT"

Where/When: The Grand Summit Hotel, 570 Springfield Ave., Summit, NJ 07901; April 3, 2011 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: This annual fund-raising event will raise money for the Summit Historical Society. Plus, you can sample fine foods from several Summit restaurants and food shops.

4. FOR ART’S SAKE WEEKEND FUNDRAISER 2011: Open House

Where/When: Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, 68 Elm St., Summit, NJ 07901; April 3, 2011 from 12 to 4 p.m.

Why Go: People of all ages can participate in art-making activities. The open house will also feature Puerto Rican music and dance, and GARAGE Burgers and Fries.

5. NEW PROVIDENCE TRACK AT SUMMIT RELAYS

Where/When: Investors Savings Bank Field, Summit High School; April 2, 2011 at 9 a.m.

Why Go: Several schools in the area will compete in this meeting, including the New Providence boys’ and girls’ track team.
