Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad Cadets Collect Food for Hungry

Drop locations are around town, and at the Berkeley Heights tree lighting ceremony this Saturday.

The cadets of the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) are working hard to raise awareness of hunger in the community and across the nation.

The cadets gave time during their Thanksgiving Day holiday to support a local blood drive with planning and helping organize the event along with the local Scout group, Venture Crew 368. Now the group is holding a holiday food drive to replenish local food pantries for those in need.

The cadets have food drop-off locations at Berkeley Heights Rescue Squad, at 378 Snyder Avenue, Stop & Shop, BH EMO, Yogoccino, Deena's Delights, Berkeley Heights Fire Department, Kings in Gillette, and A&P in New Providence.

The cadets' food collection continues this Saturday at the Berkeley Heights tree lighting ceremony, which will be held at 5 p.m. Please bring food donations, and look for the BHVRS cadets.

All monetary proceeds donated will go to the Little Flower Food Pantry in Berkeley Heights.
