Gov. Livingston Ice Hockey Team Regroups with a New Coach

The team will face rivals Scotch Plains in its first game this Friday at 9:10 p.m.

A new season is coming to Governor Livingston High School's hockey team, and they've got a new coach to make sure things go well.

Matt Anderson, a former assistant coach at Seton Hall Prep, has joined the GL effort, bringing years of hockey experience to his new role, team officials said in a press release.

The GL team has had its own challenges. Seven seniors left team when they graduated in June, while three freshmen have joined up. "The team has enough players to form two lines, but they are fighting hard to be the best they can," team officials said.

The hockey squad will face rivals Scotch Plains on Friday, Nov. 29, at 9:10 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and support the team.

The GL pipeline pulls together future GL players of all ages for different activities, including a spring hockey season.  To find out more about the GL pipeline, contact Matt Anderson at mjanderson346@gmail.com.
