Lady Pioneers fall short against Bloomfield Tech 47-39 in State Tournament

New Providence lost to Bloomfield Tech 47-39 in the semi-final game on Saturday afternoon in New Providence.  The Lady Pioneers had several chances to control the game but came up short. New Providence were outscored 17-10 in the fourth quarter.  Bloomfield Tech used an aggresive defense and made their free throws to finish the game.

Cassandra Squeri scored 13 points and Sydney Morang chipped in 12 points for New Providence.

Ashunae Durant led Bloomfield Tech with 23 points, with 14 in the fourth quarter. Javee Artis finished with 13 points and eight rebounds for Bloomfield Tech.

Congratulations to Lady Pioneeers on a fine season.  They finished with a record of 22-5.   Senior Cassandra Squeri finishes her high school basketball career scoring 1,000+ points.
