(Photos) New Providence Edges Gov. Livingston 50-48 On Winning Shot By Bryan Sherman

The Pioneers played their cross town rivals on Thursday night in New Providence.  New Providence started the game hot taking a 11-4 lead into the 2nd quarter.  The Highlanders came back strong in the second quarter to only trail by 2 points at half time.  

After trailing the Pioneers for most of the game the Highlanders took a six point lead at the beginging of the fourth quarter.  The Pioneers came charging back with the shooting of Sherman, Joyce and Curto.

In the final minute of regulation,the Pioneers built a four point lead, but Governor Livingston managed to tie the game at 48-48 and had a chance to the take the lead.  The second free throw was missed and the Pioneers grabbed the rebound with 11 seconds left in the game.

The Pionners took a time out to discuss their strategy.  Bryan Sherman dribbled the ball the length of the court an shot a litttle floater in the lane and scored the  winning basket.

Bryan Sherman led the Pioneer scoring with 14 points, Bryan Joyce scored 9 points.

Cameron De Fronzo led Gov. Livingston with 17 points.
