Area Students Compete in Nationwide Presidents Day Contest Videos Demonstrate Impressive Feat

Warren, NJ –  In celebration of President’s Day 2014, LearningRx students from New Jersey and across the nation recently demonstrated impressive memory feats and focus for a national Presidents Day video contest. They quickly recited from memory all 44 U.S. presidents in order, while performing other tasks and blocking out intense distractions. The contest is designed to encourage kids across the country to create videos that demonstrate the memory and focus skills they improved with LearningRx brain training.

"This is one of the first things we have students master in our brain training programs," said Marcia Douglas, Owner and Executive Director of LearningRx Warren. "It quickly strengthens long-term memory, attention and other cognitive skills, and it also gives a big boost of self-confidence. Many of these kids have struggled in school for years, so when they can quickly learn all the presidents they feel smart and confident, often for the first time ever."

The national winner of this year’s Presidents Day contest is 13-year-old Bryson DeVries of Peewee Valley, Kentucky. He recited all 44 presidents while riding a unicycle AND dribbling a basketball – all while his family threw things at him! You can watch his impressive video, along with the other 60 incredible entries, here: www.learningrx.com/presidents-day-video-contest. Please feel free to link to this video, or broadcast it for an inspirational story this Presidents Day, February 17.

Even though no local student won the competition or the IPad prize, Douglas says her students are all winners for the prize winning attitude and hard work they put in every day they train!  She went on to say, “While the IPad is an awesome reward for DeVries, I think all our students and families would agree that the ultimate prize is the benefit that fun, but intense mental exercise can have on the brain – smarter thinking, faster processing and better memory. And this is a reward that all our students receives a result of their hard work and dedication to their LearningRx brain training programs.”

Clients of the local Warren brain training center couldn’t agree more. Parents, teachers, coaches and friends of LearningRx students regularly report noticeable improvements in students’ reading, math and other schoolwork; their attention and focus; their sports performance and overall confidence.

Just last Friday, when asked about the program, M.S., a local parent from Gillette said, “Words cannot describe the improvements my daughter has made as a result of the LearningRx Einstein program. We saw improvements in her Hebrew, language arts, math, swim and softball. Overall, she is calmer and has more confidence. It has been a pleasure coming here. The people here are awesome, too.”
