Berkeley Heights PD Seek Mugging Suspect

Man described as thin, in his late 20s or early 30s, with olive skin.

Berkeley Heights police are asking the public to help identify a man suspected in a mugging attempt.

Police say a man stalked and attacked a woman walking home from work on Plainfield Avenue near Lincoln Street at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The suspect reportedly grabbed the woman by the wrist and asked for money. After the victim said she had no money, the suspect reportedly shoved her to the ground and ran west on Lincoln Street.

Police describe the suspect as olive skinned and approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build and unshaven, in his late twenties or early thirties. He was reportedly wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and sneakers during the assault.
