Berkeley Heights Police: Car Stolen from Valet Parking Lot

Thieves reportedly made off with late model Mercedez.

Berkeley Heights police say that a 2011 Mercedez was stolen from a restaurant parking lot shortly after a valet parked it to be returned to its owner.

According to a Berkeley Heights police report, on Friday, Nov. 30, Sgt. Bradley Countryman responded to a report that a car was stolen outside a Springfield Avenue restaurant.

Police say a valet reported he returned the victim’s car and parked in the designated area. As he returned to the restaurant to tell the owner the car was ready, he reportedly noticed another vehicle enter the parking lot. Shortly thereafter, the victim’s vehicle sped out of the lot by a driver described by witnesses as a well-dressed black male.

The stolen vehicle was a 2011 Mercedes Benz, last seen travelling west on Springfield Avenue trailed by a dark green colored Nissan Altima.
