Berkeley Heights Police Department To Host Youth Academy in July

Students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to participate. Applications are available at the Berkeley Heights Police Department.

The Berkeley Heights Police Department will host its first annual Police Youth Academy from July 23 to July 27 for grades 9 - 12, and July 30 to August 30 for boys and girls in grades 6 - 8.

The Police Youth Academy will provide boys and girls an inside look at local law enforcement. It will build a lasting partnership between our Police Department, the youth and the community we serve.

The Police Youth Academy will create a nucleus of well-informed youths who will possess a greater insight into practice and services of the Berkeley Heights Police, FBI, Secret Service, S.W.A.T., NJ State Police and others. Teaching pride, respect, responsibility, self-discipline, teamwork, and increasing one's self-esteem are important objectives.
