Berkeley Heights Residents Report Numerous Thefts From Motor Vehicles

Police said thefts occurred on four different streets in town. Items stolen include a laptop computer, binoculars, money and various electronics.

From the Berkeley Heights Police Department:

On Wednesday, Sept. 19, officers responded to numerous reports of thefts from motor vehicles at residences on McMane Avenue, Grassman Place, Martins Lane and Diamond Hill Road in Berkeley Heights.

Residents began reporting the thefts, which appear to have occurred during the overnight hours, at around 6:40 a.m.

Several of the vehicles were entered through unlocked doors; however, a side window was smashed in on one vehicle from which a laptop computer was taken.

Also taken from the approximately 10 vehicles that were broken into were binoculars, currency and various electronic items, including a G.P.S. unit.

The incidents have been referred to the Investigations Division.
