Berkeley Heights Traffic Stop Leads To Drunk Driving Arrest

The following information was provided by the Berkeley Heights Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A routine motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of a Colts Neck man last week, according to a press release from the Berkeley Heights Police Department.

On May 3, at 8:25 p.m., Patrolman Ron DeSimoni arrested Raymond A. Ross, 59, of Colts Neck, police said.

Ross was the operator of a 2003 Honda that was stopped on Springfield Avenue for motor vehicle violations. The subsequent investigation revealed that Ross was intoxicated, at which time Ptl. DeSimoni placed him under arrest.

Ross was brought to police headquarters, processed and charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving. Ross was given a date to appear in Berkeley Heights Municipal Court and released into the custody of a friend.
