Brief: Rt. 22 West at Scotch Plain Line is Now Re-Opened After Downed Tree

DOT removes tree in one hour.

The Department of Transportation was on the scene to remove a tree that fell across Rt. 22 West on the Mountainside-Scotch Plains border.

The report came in from the Mountainside Police Department at 4:48pm and was re-opened by 5:40pm.

At 3:30pm, Rt.22 West was closed at New Providence Rd. because of trees down across the highway.

Mountainside Police Captain Rich Osieja is imploring people to stay off the roads until further notice so as not to hinder emergency management personnel during cleanup during this still dangerous situation.
