Car Stolen, 3 Others Broken Into on Salem Road

New Providence police are investigating one-night spree of unlocked vehicles.

One vehicle was stolen and three others were broken into on Salem Road during the overnight hours Thursday, New Providence Police said.

A 2005 Nissan 350 Z was reported stolen outside one Salem Road residence, while another vehicle in the same driveway was burglarized and two others on the street were rummaged through, police said.

The Nissan owner said his dog was barking at about 2 a.m., but he didn't realize his vehicle was gone until later in the morning, police said.

All of the vehicles were likely unlocked and the keys were left in the Nissan that was stolen, police said.

Anyone with information about the incidents or witnessed suspicious activity in the Salem Road neighborhood early Thursday morning can contact the New Providence Police at 908-665-1111.
