Cops: Driver on Cell Phone Crashes Into School Bus

Green Brook resident Rochelle Kapule crashed into bus Monday and caused another driver to slam into a utility pole, police said.

A Green Brook driver received three summonses Monday after she allegedly slammed her car into the back of a school bus on Route 22 East in Mountainside while she was talking on her cell phone, according to NJ.com.

The crash sent Rochelle Kapule, the cell phone user, and Edgar Francisquihi of Plainfield, the driver behind her who crashed into a utility pole, to Overlook Medical Center in Summit for treatment. Neither of the victims received life-threatening injuries, the NJ.com report said, quoting Mountainside Police Chief James Debbie.

The school bus was empty at the time of the crash, and the bus driver wasn't injured. Kampule was cited for allegedly talking on a cell phone, careless driving, and tailgating, according to the NJ.com
