Fire Reported at Grand Summit Hotel

A laundry-room fire broke out shortly after 5 a.m. There were no injuries from the incident.

A dryer fire that broke out in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday led to the evacuation of the .

According to a firefighter with the , the two-alarm fire, reported just after 5 a.m., caused a "minor smoke condition." Guests and employees were evacuated from the hotel for a short time until SFD could be certain the fire hadn't spread from the laundry room to any other part of the hotel.

No hotel official would comment on the small fire or discuss how many people were evacuated from the hotel. The hotel is open for business.
