Four Injured in Mountainside Car Accident

One driver charged with careless driving, bald tires and failing to change license from another state.

On Monday at 7:48 a.m., a two car accident occurred on Summit Road and Mary Allen Lane in Mountainside.

The driver of a silver Mazada, Jessica Diaz, age 22 of Summit, was traveling south on Summit Road when the other vehicle, a red Honda prelude driven by Francisco Jaume of Union, crossed over into the opposite lane, striking the Mazada headon.

Two passenger’s in the Diaz vehicle as well as Francisco Jaume were injured. All four individuals were transported to Morristown Memorial hospital with various injuries.

The driver of the red Honda, Francisco Jaume, was issued motor vehicle summons for careless driving, bald tires and failing to change his license from another state.
