A visitation will be held Wednesday and a eulogy on Thursday for the 19-year-old Point Pleasant Borough woman who died in a train crash in Spring Lake on Saturday night.

Visitation for Lily A. Seegobin will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, according to the funeral home's website.

A eulogy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle.

Surviving are her mother, Sharena, and step-father, Jeffrey R. Surenian, Point Pleasant Borough; two sisters, Laura Seegobin Nelson and Sherri Surenian, both of Point Pleasant; her grandparents, Rose and Darius Surenian, Wall; and the large Seegobin family.

Seebogin was born in Trinidad and lived in Point Pleasant Borough since 1999. She was a student at Rutgers University, Newark.

Stories about the death have generated a flood of warm memories in comments, emails and Facebook messages from family and friends from throughout the Shore region.

In one Facebook message, Arpie Nakashian McQueen, who lives in Jackson Township with her family, expressed her sadness.

"So sad for this tragic loss." Nakashian McQueen wrote. "We are friends with Jeffrey, her step-dad, and his parents, and remember Lily as a vibrant young woman who, with her mother and older sister, were happy to lend a hand at church events."

She said she and the family go to the same church, St. Stepanos Armenian Church in the Elberon section of Long Branch.

The online obituary says, "She enjoyed dancing, and she was a cheerleader for Point Pleasant High School. She loved her little sister, her 'nog,' her friends and family."

Seegobin also played softball all four years in high school and played on the varsity level during her senior year. She graduated last June.

"In lieu of flowers, donations will accepted to help pay for the operation of a family member in Trinidad that has no means to have a much-needed operation," the obituary says.

Checks can be made payable to Jeffrey R. Surenian, 1206 Rue Ave., Point Pleasant, NJ 08742.

According to the Monnmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Seegobin drove her car onto the railroad tracks in Spring Lake and died when a train crashed into her.

The death was ruled a suicide on Sunday based on an autopsy by the Monmouth County Medical Examiner's office and an investigation by the county Prosecutor's office, said Marc Lemieux, director of the prosecutor's Major Crimes Bureau.

"The autopsy findings, in conjunction with information provided during the police investigation, led to the ruling that it was a suicide," Lemieux said on Tuesday. "Our investigation, some of which I cannot give out to the public, was consistent with the findings of the medical examiner."

Lemieux said his office will not be elaborating any further on the ruling out of respect for the family.
