New Providence Blotter: NY Woman Issued Summons For Parking Car on a Resident's Lawn

New Providence police activity, Feb. 16 - Feb. 27, 2013:

2-17-2013 – Patrols responded to Charnwood Road on a report of a motor vehicle being parked on the front lawn of a residence.  The vehicle was located without license plates.  Patrol officers were able to identify the owner of the vehicle through the vehicle identification number.  A summons was issued to Arina Aristova, 43, of New York for abandoning a motor vehicle on private property without license plates.

2-19-2013 – A Southgate Road resident reported that he was having problems with his cellular phone and switched carriers.  After receiving his new phone, the former cell phone carrier had contacted him and advised him that someone had opened several accounts and made $28,000 in fraudulent charges.  This matter is under investigation.

2-20-2013 – Patrols and the New Providence Fire Department responded to 1141 Springfield Avenue at 8:55 PM on a report of a motor vehicle that had crashed into the residence.  Upon arrival, patrols located a 2010 Honda Accord that had significantly damaged the garage portion of the residence.  The driver of the vehicle, Steven Careccia, 26, of New Providence was issued a summons for careless driving.  No injuries were reported to the driver or the residents of the home.

2-26-2013 – Patrolman DiParisi arrested Augustina Almonte, 54, of Bloomfield on outstanding warrants out of Bloomfield and Paterson.  The warrants were located during a traffic stop on South Street.  She was issued a summons for an equipment violation and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  She was released after posting bail.
