New Providence Police Blotter

NPPD recently responded to individuals driving while suspended or intoxicated, attempted theft of a 2010 Ferrari and damage to the Municipal Center gymnasium.

11-22-2010- Patrolman Diamond arrested Omar R. Baker, age 30, of Elizabeth with outstanding warrants after his vehicle was stopped for a violation of the overweight limit on Union Avenue.  Mr. Baker was issued a summons and turned over to the East Orange Police Department.

11-23-2010- Patrolman Diamond charged Jorge Mandbanda, age 49, of Plainfield with driving while suspended, operating a vehicle without insurance, and failure to signal a turn after his vehicle was stopped for the motor vehicle violation. 

11-23-2010- A resident on Marion Avenue reported several of the resident's rooms were burglarized.  The matter is currently under investigation by the New Providence Detective Bureau.

11-27-2010- A member of the New Providence DPW reports damage done to the newly renovated Municipal Center gymnasium.  A tile and wall light were damaged by unknown actors.  The incident is under investigation by the New Providence Detective Bureau.

11-29-2010- Patrolman Diamond arrested John R. Bussiculo, age 30, of Berkeley Heights with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, improper passing, leaving the scene of a crash, and failure to report a crash after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash and stopped by Patrolman Diamond.

11-30-2010- Corporal Opalewski arrested David P. Henriksen, age 55, of New Providence for defiant trespass after he entered a residence on Marion Avenue when he was not invited or authorized to do so.  He was released pending a court date. 

12-01-2010- Patrolman Wilson charged Maria Deloya, age 26, of New Providence with driving while suspended, failure to produce proper documents, and failure to observe a traffic signal after her vehicle was stopped for the motor vehicle violation.

12-02-2010- Patrols responded to a business on Mountain Avenue at 2:19 PM on a report of an attempted vehicle theft of a 2010 Ferrari.  A witness told police that the suspect was possibly operating a grey, older model, Oldsmobile Cutlass or Buick Century.  The witness described the suspect as a black male in his 20's wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, brown pants and wheat colored shoes or boots.  The witness observed the suspect in the driver's seat of the vehicle.  If anyone has information regarding this incident please contact the New Providence Police.
