New Providence Police Blotter: April 10

A patrolman, who observed a suspicious vehicle with four occupants at a Mountain Avenue business, charged the individuals with possession of drugs and trespassing.

On April 10, Patrolman Andrew Diamond observed a suspicious vehicle with four occupants pull into a Mountain Avenue business. 

As the officer pulled up to the vehicle in his patrol car, a passenger identified as Jarrett Robustelli, 25, of Millington, quickly exited the vehicle and attempted to gain entry into a parked vehicle in the parking lot.  A second passenger identified as Michael Gilliland, 26, of Stirling exited the vehicle and began to stumble, holding onto the vehicle for support. 

The officer observed that Mr. Gilliland was drooling and appeared to be intoxicated.  The operator of the vehicle is identified as Ryan Heisler, 23, of Gillette and a third passenger is identified as Alyssa Taluba, 23, of Warren.

During the investigation, the four occupants had conflicting accounts of the reason for being in the business parking lot.  While speaking with the subjects, Mr. Gilliland threw six vials of a white substance believed to be cocaine under the vehicle. 

Mr. Gilliland was arrested and during the search, he was also found to be in possession of 75 wax folds of a substance believed to be heroin.  Mr. Gilliland also had several empty wax folds and two loaded syringes with what appeared to be a mixture of cocaine and heroin.

A search of passenger, Alyssa Taluba, revealed 22 wax folds of a substance believed to be heroin, a vial of a white substance believed to be cocaine, one loaded syringe with a substance believed to be heroin and cocaine, and five prescription bottles with no prescription. 

Jarrett Robustelli was found to be in possession of two syringes, five wax folds of a substance believed to be heroin and other drug paraphernalia. 

Michael Gilliland was charged with possession of heroin and cocaine, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.  Mr. Gilliland was transported to Overlook Hospital for medical treatment and then transported to the Union County Jail and held on $20,000 bail. Mr. Gilliland was also found to have an outstanding warrant out of Bridgewater in the amount of $1,000. 

Jarrett Robustelli, Ryan Heisler and Alyssa Taluba were all charged with possession of heroin and trespassing.  They were issued summonses and released with a pending court date.
