New Providence Police Blotter: Aug. 8 - 17

The following information was supplied by the New Providence Police Department. Any arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

08-07-2012 - Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Luis W. Silva, age 37, of Pompton Lakes with driving while suspended after a random license plate inquiry revealed the suspension. 

08-13-2012 - Sergeant Justine Kennedy arrested Le R. Sergeant, age 31, of Maplewood on an active warrant out of Irvington after his vehicle was stopped for being overweight on Union Avenue.  Mr. Sergeant posted the bail and was issued for the borough ordinance violation.

08-13-2012 - Detective Steve Drown charged Jeffrey J. Donnelly, age 25, of New Providence after an investigation into an alleged lewd act that occurred at an apartment complex on Springfield Ave.  The act was reported by a witness who was sitting in her vehicle.  Mr. Donnelly was released pending a court date in Union County.

08-15-2012 - Patrolman Michael Scuorzo charged Brian Wilson, age 37, of Elizabeth with operating a vehicle without insurance after the vehicle was stopped for having an expired inspection sticker.  Mr. Wilson was charged with both violations along with operating a vehicle with an expired registration.

08-17-2012 - A resident of an apartment complex in the 800 block of Springfield Avenue reported that he noticed someone added a telephone line to his AT&T bill.  The company reported that the line was added from the AT&T store in New York City.  The case is being follow-up by the New Providence Detective Bureau.
