New Providence Police Blotter: December 21—January 17

The following information was supplied by the New Providence Police Department. Any arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

12-21-2011 – A resident of South Street reported that her engagement ring and wedding band had been stolen from the master bedroom of her residence.  Upon further investigation, three gold bracelets were also stolen from the residence.  Detectives are investigating the case and have identified the suspect and charges are pending.

1-5-2012 – Patrolman Chad Wilson arrested Joseph Budis, 62, of New Providence on an outstanding warrant from the Borough.  He was released with a pending court date.

1-6-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Tammy Dalto, 47, of Berkeley Heights with Driving While Intoxicated and for an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.  The charges stem from Ms. Dalto operating her vehicle on Mountain Avenue with her headlamps off at 8:42 PM.  Ms. Dalto was also charged with Reckless Driving, operating a motor vehicle with headlights off during the time required and utilizing a handheld device.  She was released to a friend with a pending court date.

1-7-2012 – Patrolman Joseph DiParisi arrested Tony Williams, 43, of Chatham on an outstanding warrant out of Newark.  He was also charged with operating a vehicle while his license was suspended and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 

1-7-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Pedro Fuentes-Aguila, 65, Jersey City on outstanding warrants from several municipalities.  During the motor vehicle stop on South Street for an equipment violation, Mr. Fuentes-Aguila did not provide Patrolman Diamond with his correct personal information in an attempt to avoid the warrants.  He was charged with hindering apprehension.  He was unable to post bail and was transported to the Union County Jail.

1-8-2012 – Corporal Daniel Henn reported that during his routine patrol that someone had caused graffiti damage to the rear of a building on Springfield Avenue. 

1-9-2012 – A resident of Hampshire Drive reported that a briefcase containing a lap top computer was stolen from her vehicle sometime during the weekend while it was parked in front of her residence.

1-09-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Pyo H. Namkung, age 24, of New Providence with operating a vehicle with a suspended registration after a random license plate inquiry revealed the violation.

1-14-2012- Patrolman Joseph DiParisi arrested Wilfredo Perez-Fuentes, age 23, of West New York on an outstanding warrant out of Flemington Borough after his vehicle was stopped for being overweight on Union Avenue.  Mr. Perez-Fuentes was charged with the borough ordinance violation and for operating a vehicle while his license was suspended.  He was released pending a court date after bail was posted.

1-14-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Zachary Bence, age 23, of Newark on an outstanding warrant out of the Borough after a random license plate inquiry revealed the active warrant.  He was released pending a court date after bail was posted.

1-15-2012- A Borough business reported an incident of shoplifting.  Video surveillance has been obtained and the crime is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.

1-16-2012- Patrolman Joseph DiParisi charged Roger Ramdoo, age 39, of Newark with operating  a vehicle while his license was suspended, after a random license plate inquiry revealed his vehicle registration was expired.  Summonses were issued for both violations.

1-16-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged a juvenile from Summit with speeding, CDS in a motor vehicle, possession of CDS under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to deliver drugs to a law enforcement officer.  The charges stem from a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle after the vehicle was stopped for speeding.  The juvenile was taken into protective custody and released to his father.  The charges were forwarded to the Union County Family Court.

1-16-2012- A business owner of the Borough reported that his store front window was cracked  over night.  The criminal mischief is currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

1-16-2012- A Borough resident reported his IPod was stolen from a Borough restaurant.  Video surveillance is being obtained and the crime is currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

1-17-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Joseph Coralluzzo, age 32, of Montclair with driving while suspended after a random license plate inquiry revealed his license was suspended.

1-17-2012- Corporal Dennis Carovillano arrested Keith Jackson, age 49, of Bound Brook and Robert Gardiner, age 54, of Plainfield for each having active outstanding warrants after Mr. Jackson’s vehicle was stopped for a loud muffler.  Mr. Jackson was released after posting the bail and was issued summonses for loud muffler, maintenance of lamps, and for driving while suspended. The Union County Sheriff’s Warrant Squad responded to take custody of Mr. Gardiner.

1-17-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Agueda Zambrano, age 41, of Newark with driving while suspended after a random license plate inquiry revealed the suspension.

1-17-2012- Detective Sean Bubb arrested Gabrielle Leonardis, age 20, of Warren with theft and fencing after he concluded an investigation into a theft of jewelry from a Borough residence.  Ms. Leonardis was released pending a court date.
