New Providence Police Blotter: Dec. 22 - Jan. 1

The following information was supplied by the New Providence Police Department. Any arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

12-22-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Christopher Stanek, 26, of New Providence with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.  The charges stem from a motor vehicle stop on Springfield Avenue for a moving violation.  He was also charged with driving while his license was suspended.  He was released with a pending court date.

12-24-2012 – A Seven Oaks Drive resident reported that someone had stolen several animated holiday decorations from the front lawn of the residence.

12-24-2012 – Patrolman Joseph DiParisi arrested Anibal A. Aldana, 50, of Saddle Brook on an outstanding warrant from Elmwood Park Municipal Court.  The warrant was located during a motor vehicle stop on Springfield Avenue for equipment violations.  He was released after posting bail.

12-26-2012 – A Seven Oaks Drive resident reported that a sign belonging to a neighborhood civic association was stolen from Mountain Avenue sometime during the night. 

12-27-2012 – Corporal Dennis Carovillano took a 17-year-old juvenile into protective custody for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.   The juvenile was a passenger in a motor vehicle that was stopped by Corporal Carovillano for speeding, unsafe lane change and an equipment violation.

12-31-2012 – Patrols responded behind a Springfield Avenue business on a report of several juveniles setting fires.  Patrols located the juveniles and released them to their parents. 

12-31-2012 – Patrols responded to a residence on Woodland Road on a report of an intoxicated juvenile, female, that was in the need of medical assistance after coming from another residence in the Borough.  The juvenile’s parents responded to the scene and the juvenile was transported to Overlook Hospital. 

1-1-2013 – Patrolman Joseph DiParisi charged Michael Rodrigues, 32, of Newark with driving while intoxicated, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and careless driving.  The charges stem from a report that Mr. Rodrigues had caused a rear end collision on Springfield Avenue. Upon patrols investigation of the motor vehicle crash, it was determined that Mr. Rodrigues was intoxicated.
