New Providence Police Blotter: June 20 - July 12

The following information was supplied by the New Providence Police Department. Any arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

06-20-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Joseph A Marney Jr., age 38, of Williamstown on an outstanding warrant out of Deptford Township.  Mr. Marney was stopped for having a commercial vehicle without lettering.  He was released after posting bail.

06-20-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Jose Gonzalo Anguizaca Lopez, age 31, of Belleville with operating a vehicle while his license was suspended after his vehicle was stopped for having a passenger riding on parts not intended for riding.

06-20-2012- Patrolman Bryce Garrison charged Monica M. Gomez, age 48, of Madison with driving while her license was suspended after her vehicle was stopped for failing to stop at a stop sign.  Ms. Gomez was issued summonses for failure to stop and also for operating an uninsured vehicle.

06-21-2012- A business owner on Passaic Street reported an attempted burglary at approximately 3:25 am.  No entry was gained and nothing was reported to be missing.  The attempted burglary is currently under investigation by the New Providence Detective Bureau.

06-22-2012- A resident of Murray Hill Square reported an attempted burglary to her residence between 4:00 and 10:00 pm.  No entry was gained and nothing was reported to be missing.  The case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.

06-30-2012- A resident of the 900 block of Springfield Avenue reported a burglary between 9:00 pm on 06-29-2012 and 9:00 am on 06-30-2012.  The resident indicated that someone opened his garage door and stole his Jeep mountain bicycle.  The burglary is currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

06-30-2012- Corporal Chad Wilson arrested Gustavo Pereiro, age 46, of West Orange on an outstanding warrant out of West Orange.  Mr. Pereiro’s vehicle was stopped after he was observed using a cell phone without a hands-free device.  He was issued a summons for the motor vehicle offense and released after posting the bail for the warrant.

06-30-2012- Patrolman Joseph DiParisi arrested Hubert Sedano, age 57, of Bloomfield on an outstanding warrant out of Bloomfield after his vehicle was stopped for being overweight on Union Avenue.  He was issued the Borough Ordinance summons and released after posting the bail for the warrant.

07-05-2012- Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Saul Zhunio-Chacon, age36, of Newark with driving while his license was suspended after his vehicle was stopped for failing to display an inspection sticker and for failure to maintain lamps.

07-09-2012- Sergeant Robert Carroll charged Dariusz Glazewski, age 35, of Kearny with operating a vehicle while his license was suspended after a random license plate inquiry revealed the suspension of his commercial license.  Mr. Glazewski was also issued a summons for passenger plates on a vehicle used for a commercial purpose.

07-09-2012- A resident on Providence Street reported an attempted burglary on 07-08-2012 at approximately 11:20 pm.  Damage to the front door was observed.  The resident reported nothing to be missing.  The attempted burglary is under investigation by the Detective Bureau.

07-11-2012- Corporal Jason Labaska arrested Carlos Carbajal, age 41, of Elizabeth on an active outstanding warrant out of Sayreville after his vehicle was stopped for numerous motor vehicle violations.  He was issued several summons and released after posting the bail for the warrant.

07-11-2012- A resident of Radcliff Drive reported several juveniles damaged the solar decorative lights in her front lawn and fled from the scene after they were confronted by the homeowner.  Patrols responded to the scene and after a search of the surrounding area, Corporal Chad Wilson located the suspect juveniles.  They were taken into protective custody and released to their parents.  The case has been turned over to the Juvenile Officer.

07-12-2012- Corporal Chad Wilson charged Edward Brown, age 37, of Montague with operating a vehicle while his license was suspended after his vehicle was stopped for tinted windows.
