New Providence Police Blotter: Oct. 16 - Oct. 24

10-16-2012 – Detective Stephen Drown charged Dianna Washington, 38, of Orange with six counts of 3rd degree bad checks.  The charges stem from an investigation from a report made by a Borough credit union in July, that Ms. Washington had deposited six checks into an account and the checks had either been written on closed accounts or accounts with not enough funds to cover the checks.  She was released with a pending court date at the Union County Superior Court.

10-17-2012 – Patrolman Michael Scuorzo arrested Khalilah Woodson, 36, of Newark on an outstanding warrant out of the City of Newark.  She was also issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.  The warrant was located during a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Road.

10-19-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Brian Garcia, 38, of Berkeley Heights with driving while intoxicated and careless driving.  The charges stem from Patrolman Diamond observing Mr. Garcia traveling at a high rate of speed, on the wrong side of the road and with the vehicle’s high beams activated on Springfield Avenue at 2:29 a.m.  He was released to a family member with a pending court date.

10-24-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond charged Peter Blume, 51, of New Providence with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The charges stem from Patrolman Diamond observing the vehicle Mr. Blume was operating fail to stop at a stop sign at Constantine Place and Springfield Avenue.  During the motor vehicle stop, Patrolman Diamond smelled an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the interior of the vehicle.  He was also issued a summons for failure to stop at a stop sign.  He was released with a pending court date.
