New Providence Police Investigate Graffiti on Borough Property

Police say graffiti was found at several locations in the municipality.

The following information was provided by the New Providence Police Department.

New Providence Police are investigating several cases of graffiti that were reported on April 21 on borough property.

According to police, patrols responded to a report from a citizen in regards to graffiti at several locations on Central Avenue and on borough property between Maple Street and Division Avenue. The graffiti was in the roadway, signs, park benches, foot bridge and on a storm drainage ditch. A check of the area by officers, led to the discovery of graffiti on the Maple Street railroad bridge and the pedestrian tunnel at the New Providence Train Station.

Police say the graffiti occurred sometime after 6 p.m. on April 20 and 11:44 a.m.April 21. The detective bureau is investigating the reports. Anyone who has information on these acts of criminal mischief is encouraged to contact the New Providence Police Department at 908-665-1111.
