New Providence Police Issue Sanitary Violations to Green Spring Spa

The spa was previously in trouble with the law for soliciting prostitution.

Feb. 19, 2013: After several citizen complaints into an unlicensed massage business at 1823 Springfield Avenue, Detectives and the Westfield Regional Board of Health issued several Borough Ordinance violations to the owner of the “Green Spring Spa.”

The owner of the business, Yue Wu Yang, 54, of Flushing, New York was charged with operating an unlicensed massage business and several other sanitary violations including dirty sheets and towels on massage tables, bacteriostatic solution not available for use for employees before and after services and disinfectant not available for cleaning equipment.

Jing Wang, 52, of Flushing, New York was issued a summons for operating as an unlicensed massage therapist. 

The spa was previously in trouble with the law for soliciting prostitution. In Nov. 2011, an undercover Berkeley Heights police officer investigated the Green Spring Spa in response to an ad on Craigslist. Upon arrival he was offered sexual services in exchange for money, at which time other officers entered the location and made the arrest. Taken into custody was Guimei Yu, 40, of Berkeley Heights. Yu was brought to police headquarters, processed and charged with soliciting prostitution.
