New Providence Resident Arrested for Insurance Fraud

The following arrest information was provided by the New Providence Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On Jan. 31, New Providence Police arrested Rebecca Borman, age 20, of New Providence with insurance fraud, theft by deception, unsworn falsification to authorities and hindering apprehension.

Police made the arrest after investigating Borman's claim that her vehicle was stolen from her driveway between 6 p.m. on Nov. 22 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 23.

The investigation led to the recovery of Borman's vehicle in Plainfield. According to police, it was left there after Borman was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Madison.

Borman was charged and release pending a court date.
