New Providence Resident Reports Someone Filed Taxes Under His Name

If any other residents have a similar incident occur, they are advised to file a police report and follow the steps on the IRS website, www.IRS.gov, for identity theft.

On Feb. 11, a resident of Radcliff Drive in New Providence reported that someone filed a tax return using his social security number and taxpayer ID. 

The victim had an affidavit of fraud form which he will be sending to the IRS.
