When the snowstorm left the CAU program without power for almost a week, the New Providence Police Department made sure that their members were warm and safe. In addition, they stood ready to assist in transporting CAU members to new locations until the power came back on.

“The New Providence Police Department has been very helpful throughout the years to our members,” said Tyechia Horton, Director at CAU. “I speak for the staff and all of the members in New Providence in saying that the New Providence Police Department has been there for us every single time we have needed their assistance. Whenever any of the New Providence members are out in the community, they feel safe and assured that if they need any assistance, they can reach out to the police department, as they are always prompt and accountable when it comes to emergencies. This time last year, when Springfield Avenue was closed due to construction right in front of our houses, the New Providence Police Department escorted us out, so that our members could make it to the 2011 Awards Night. Their kindness and support of our agency is unwavering.”
