Attempted Burglary, Slashed Tires Under Investigation in New Providence

Marion Avenue Deli lock damaged, car's tires slashed outside.

New Providence Police are still investigating an attempted burglary and slashed tires at a business on Marion Avenue.

Chief Anthony Buccelli confirmed that this incident occurred at Marion Avenue Deli. He said the front door lock was found damaged and while the exact time of this attempted burglary isn’t known, it was reported on June 24.

There’s a residence above the deli, Buccelli said, and the tires were slashed on the vehicle belonging to that resident.

Buccelli said the incident is still under investigation and there are no leads or suspects at this time.
