NP Police Respond to Possible Synthetic Marijuana or Bath Salts Overdose by Teen

Witnesses on scene reported that the juvenile was having violent outbursts where he would violently grab objects in the residence and then would become nearly unconscious.

The following release was provided by the New Providence Police Department

3-10-13 – At 6:04 AM, patrols responded to a residence on Central Avenue for a possible overdose of a 17-year-old male. 

Witnesses on scene reported that the juvenile was having violent outbursts where he would violently grab objects in the residence and then would become nearly unconscious. The juvenile was also yelling for someone to take him to the hospital.

Witnesses also stated that the juvenile may have smoked “Synthetic Marijuana” or “Bath Salts” that were ordered online. 

The New Providence Rescue Squad responded to the scene and with officers, restrained the juvenile, and was transported to Overlook Hospital.
