One Minor Injury After Two-Car Accident in New Providence

The individual who was injured was not taken to the hospital. Traffic reopened on Springfield Avenue at 6 p.m.

A two-car motor vehicle accident on Springfield Avenue today resulted in one minor injury, police said.

The accident occurred near 1275 Springfield Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. and New Providence EMS was called to the scene.

Cpl. Steve Opalewski said the individual who sustained minor injuries did not want to be taken to the hospital and the accident is still under investigation by the New Providence Police Department.

Traffic was closed from South Street to Academy Street, but re-opened around 6 p.m.

Both vehicles involved in the accident were taken away by two tow trucks.
