Pair of Burglaries Under Investigation

Lincoln Lane resident interrupted shed burglary and Charnwood Road resident found car broken into.

A pair of burglaries reported less than a half-hour apart are under invesigation, New Providence Police said.

A Lincoln Lane resident reported that she saw three white males holding items standing by her shed at about 5:50 p.m. on May 31.

The resident confronted the men and told police the trio fled to a vehicle waiting in the New Providence Memorial Library parking lot and took off at a high rate of speed, according to the statement. She described one of the males as being about 17 years old and wearing a red T-shirt and a backpack. The vehicle was described as a silver Volkswagen Jetta.

A motor vehicle burglary was then Charnwood Road at about 6:10 p.m. The resident told officers the vehicle’s doors and hood had been opened and the interior had been rummaged through.

The detective bureau is investigating both of these incidents.
