Police Department's Crime Prevention Program Set For March 14

The two-part program will focus on current crime and drug trends.

Residents concerned about the can attend the 's Crime Prevention Program on March 14.

In cooperation with , this two-part program will begin at 7 p.m. in the and will focus on current crime trends, including burglary and thefts in our town and surrounding communities.

Residents will learn about "target hardening" techniques that will make your homes a less desirable target for thieves. Discussion will include locks, lighting, alarms and other deterrents to crime. There will be interactive displays and examples of what burglars look for when selecting their targets.

The second part of the program will focus on Current Drug Trends. Michael Litterer of Prevention Links will discuss the latest trends related to drugs and alcohol facing our youth today. Attendees will learn about the newest drugs available, the damaging effects these drugs have, and how our culture is driving their popularity.

This program will be conducted in a town hall style discussion on how we can work together as a community to address these important issues.
