Police say that when a Bound Brook man was pulled over, he wouldn't say who he was or get out of his car.
According to a Berkeley Heights Police press report, Sgt. William Ives stopped Paul E. Stockwell, 34, and Christopher L. Stockwell, 31, both of Bound Brook on Dec. 4. After noticing that the 1994 GMC truck driven by Paul Stockwell had a registration violation.
Stockwell reportedly did not have a license and refused to tell Sgt. Ives his name. Sgt. Ives asked Stockwell to exit the vehicle and he refused to comply. With the help of backup officers, Stockwell was forcibly removed from the truck and arrested.
The passenger, Christopher Stockwell, was found to have an outstanding no bail warrant out of Union County. Both parties were brought to police headquarters and processed.
Paul Stockwell was charged with obstruction, hindering apprehension, unregistered vehicle and failure to produce documents. He was given a date to appear in Berkeley Heights Municipal Court and released.
Christopher Stockwell was processed and released into the custody of the Union County Sheriff’s Department.
