Police Received Reports of Vandalism, Assault After October Snowstorm

One assault was reported at a residence on Central Avenue, an activated alarm revealed individuals broke into high school, while vandalism of two vehicles were also reported.

In the days that followed the odd snowstorm on Oct. 29, the received reports of one assault, a burglary and vandalism to two vehicles. The reports are as follows:

10-30-2011 – Patrols took a report at headquarters from an individual that claimed that he had been assaulted at a gathering at a residence on Central Avenue.  The victim sought treatment at Overlook Hospital for facial injuries and then reported the assault to the police.  Detectives are investigating the report.

10-30-2011 – A JCP&L employee advised patrols that while he was attending to downed power lines at Hickson Drive and Pleasantview Avenue, he heard the horn beeping repeatedly in his vehicle.  As he returned to the vehicle, he observed eggs thrown throughout the interior of the vehicle.

11-2-2011 – Patrols responded to the on an activated security alarm.  Patrols located a door that was unsecure.  While reviewing surveillance video, custodians and patrol officers observed four individuals forcing the doors open and gaining entry into the school.  The detective bureau is investigating the burglary. 

11-4-2011 – A resident of 5th Street reported damage to her vehicle after two unknown juvenile males threw eggs, bologna and smeared shaving cream all over the exterior of her vehicle.  The two juveniles were located by the homeowner but then took off running.
