Resident Sprayed With Silly String, Shot at with BB Gun

The 17-year-old said he was walking on South Street last Wednesday when incident occurred. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Providence Police Department.

A 17-year-old Borough resident reported that while he was walking on South Street on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 9:20 p.m., a black pickup truck pulled up behind him and the passenger began to spray him with “silly string” spray. 

The victim described the pick up truck as being a GMC. 

As the truck began to pull away, the victim reported that someone from the vehicle shot him with what he thought was a BB or pellet gun four times.

The incident was reported to the police department on Aug. 18 and the case is being investigated by the Detective Bureau.
