Six Borough Residents Report Vehicles Burglarized

Police urge citizens to lock their doors and remove valuables from their vehicles

At 1:09 a.m. today, patrols responded to a report of a motor vehicle burglary in progress on Sagamore Drive. 

The victim advised patrols that while he was walking out to his vehicle, he observed the vehicle’s interior lights on. 

As the victim got closer to his vehicle, he observed an individual in the driver’s seat rummaging through his belongings. The suspect threatened the victim with physical violence and then exited the vehicle with some of his belongings and walked away.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, approximately 30 to 35 years old, wearing long jean shorts, a black or blue t-shirt and was bald or had a closely shaven head. 

Three other residents on Sagamore Drive and two residents on Penwood Drive reported that their vehicles had been burglarized. The vehicles that were burglarized appear to all have been unlocked.

The Detective Bureau is investigating the burglaries. Residents are reminded to lock their doors and remove valuables from their vehicles.
