Press release:

A Rahway man was arrested earlier this week and found to be in possession of a handgun and thousands of dollars in cash and drugs, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Thursday.

Rajul Thomas, 41, is charged with two second-degree drug offenses, two second-degree weapons offenses, four third-degree drug offenses, and a fourth-degree count of possessing a defaced firearm.

A joint investigation by the Cranford Police Department and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Guns, Gangs, Drugs, and Violent Crimes Task Force led to the identification of Thomas as a suspect, and he was arrested Tuesday outside his home on Princeton Avenue in Rahway. The execution of search warrants for his home and vehicle yielded 20 bricks of heroin totaling more than 1,000 individual bags, plus approximately 23 grams of cocaine, $4,700 in cash, and a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun.
