Veteran State Employee Stole $2,000 Of Gasoline, Starts Suspension Today

A Department of Transportation veteran of 29-years is officially suspended without pay today due to charges that he stole nearly $2,000 worth of gas using a state fuel card, according to nj.com.

William Lomonaco, 55, has been under investigation since January, when State Police Sgt. Dustin Foschetti noticed him pumping fuel into an allegedly private vehicle, according to nj.com.

A 6mm Pistol was found in Lomonaco’s state-issued vehicle during his arrest on May 16 – he has since been charged with theft, officials misconduct and unlawful possession of a handgun, according to nj.com.
