Berkeley Heights Recreation Dept. Bulletin: Meatball Madness and More

2013 Winter Recreation Programs: Look for our 2013 Winter Program Booklet on the township website: www.berkeleyheightstwp.com (click on the recreationdrop-down).    Winter programs run through March 23, 2013.  For further information you may stop by the Recreation office or contact us by phone at 908-464-0550.   

Kindergarten Registration:  Kindergarten registration for 2013-2014 school year begins January 23-25 & 28-29.  The district will also be accepting applications in January for its Preschool Program for the 2013-2014 school year.  Please visit the school district website at www.bhpsnj.org for further information.

Meatball Madness:  The Highlander Foundation presents Berkeley Heights Meatball Taste-off on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 7 p.m.-11 p.m. at the Connell Center, 100 Connell Drive Berkeley Heights.  To sign up visitwww.berkeleyheightstwp.com/recreation.htm then scroll down to the link for Community Pass.  Once you signed in look under “winter programs."  Admission tickets are one ticket for $60 or two tickets for $100.  When making a payment for $60 click one ticket and when making a payment for two tickets click the second ticket for $40.  If you have any questions regarding the event please e-mailwww.meatballmadness2013@gmail.com.

Book Fair:  Columbia Middle School PTO will be holding a book fair on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 6-8 p.m.

BEEFSTEAK DINNER:  Little Flower Parish will hold a Beefsteak Dinner on Friday, Feb. 8 at Mt. Carmel Hall in Berkeley Heights from 7:30-11:30pm. The cost per person for this “all you can eat” event is $40.  For more details and to purchase tickets, please contact Kerry Blasch at 908-322-6426.

Berkeley Heights Community Pool:  The BHCP Early Bird registration has begun for the 2013 season!  Forms and rates can be found at www.bhcpool.com.

The Special Olympics of New Jersey will be holding their “Get into Our Game” Track & Field program on Sundays from 11:00am-noon from March 17 - May 19 (excluding Easter Sunday, March 31 and Mothers day May 12) on the track at Governor Livingston High School.  Please email RECREATION@BHTWP.com for more information or to register.

LOCAL SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS:  Please emailRECREATION@BHTWP.com for flyers related to Heights Cheer School, Heights All-Sports Camp and Heights Athletic and Academic School.  Be sure to specify what camp(s) you’re interested in.

Email Notifications:  Berkeley Heights Recreation program participants both past and present receive periodic communications via email describing Recreation programs and upcoming community events.  If you are not a program participant,but would like to receive email notifications from Berkeley Heights Recreation regarding valuable community information go to http://register.communitypass.net/berkeleyheights.  It’s free!

Newcomer’s Club:  The Newcomer’s Club of Summit, New Providence and Berkeley Heights is not just for Newcomer’s!  A variety of monthly and ongoing events such as Couple’s Nights, Meet & Greets, Ladies Nights, Moms & Tots, Book Club and playgroups are offered.  For more information please go towww.njnewcomersclub.com.
