Take a look at what's been happening around town this week.

Board of Education Moves Election

On Thursday night, Feb.9, after a rigorous discussion with input from almost a half dozen members of the public, the to move the April school board elections to November with one member of the board voting against the decision.

The board had until Feb. 17 to decide on the law that was introduced by Gov. Chris Christie in January. 

In addition to moving the board elections until later in the year, the law also discontinues the public's right to vote on school district budgets as long as the budget does not exceed a 2 percent cap.

 about Bob Quirk, the Berkeley Heights Police Dispatcher who performed the Heimlich Maneuver on his neighbor on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at his home in Hillsborough, NJ. 

Bob Quirk was resting in between shifts at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, when his neighbor’s nine year old son knocked on the door and told his wife that his father was choking on a chicken bone and needed help.
