Booker, Lonegan Debates Set for October

Senatorial candidates to square off in televised sessions.

Cory Booker and Steve Lonegan, rivals for a seat in the U.S. Senate, will face-off in a pair of televised debates on Oct. 4 and 9.

The debates will be carried locally by NBC affiliates, as well as Telemundo and Comcast, according to published reports. 

The first debate will be held in Trenton and sponsored by WABC-TV and WPVI-TV, the Record and Univision; the second debate will be held at Rowan University and sponsored by WCAU-TV and the Philadelphia Inquirer, as well as Rowan.

NBC10 Anchor Jim Rosenfield will moderate the debate, along with a panel that includes NBC 4 New York anchor David Ushery and Philadelphia Inquirer Washington correspondent Jonathan Tamari.

Earlier this week the opponents locked horns when Lonegan responded to comments Booker made about his personal life.
