David Rodriguez Sworn In As New Providence Police Officer

Rodriguez will be a probationary officer for up to one year. He was sworn in with his parents by his side.

New Providence just added a new officer to its Police Department.

On Dec. 17, New Providence Council members unanimously voted to appoint David Rodriguez as a probationary Police Officer, effective Dec. 18.

Rodriguez was sworn in by Mayor J. Brooke Hern. His parents, Rebecca and Angel Rodriguez, were by his side along with New Providence Police Chief Anthony Buccelli.

According to the resolution, Rodriguez will be paid an annual salary of $41,000 and his probationary period will last for up to one year from his date of appointment.
