Letter to the Editor: Your Vote is Critical on Nov. 8

Although New Providence has an uncontested election for members of Borough Council, Mayor Hern and Borough Council are asking all residents to vote this Tuesday.

To All New Providence Voters:

Two important issues will be addressed through referendum next week, when New Providence voters will have the opportunity to share their views with the governing body on topics that will affect the Borough for many years to come.

Two public forums were held to address questions relating to:

  1. The proposal to expand the use of the open space fund
  2. The proposal to sell liquor consumption licenses in New Providence.

It is imperative that residents vote on these important topics.

Videos from both forums, as well as Questions and Answers addressed during the forums, are posted on the borough website, www.newprov.org.  The videos of the forums have also been airing on NP-TV, our local access channel.  We urge every New Providence resident to become familiar with these issues and to vote on November 8.
