Local Justice: Decisions in Municipal Court

The Shared Municipal Court handled three criminal cases in New Providence. There were no criminal cases in Berkeley Heights.

In State v. Jonathon Medford, of New Providence, the State charged him with shoplifting magazines from Center Stationers.  The defendant pled guilty.  The Court ordered him to make restitution in the amount of $45.  The Court also imposed a $206 fine, $30 in court costs, a $50 Violent Crimes Compensation Board (VCCB) penalty, and a $50 safe neighborhood fee.

In State v. Dario Pagano, of New Providence, the State charged him with possession of fireworks.  He pled guilty.  The Court imposed an $81 fine, $30 in costs, a $75 VCCB penalty, and a $50 safe neighborhood fee.

In State v. Ashley K. Fabian, of Colonia, the State charged her with theft of $63 from a victim’s wallet.  The defendant pled guilty to the charge.  The Court imposed a $300 fine, $30 in costs, a $75 VCCB penalty, and a $50 safe neighborhood fee.
