Local Justice: Decisions in Municipal Court

The Municipal Court handled two criminal cases arising in Berkeley Heights. There were no criminal cases arising in New Providence.

 

The two cases in Berkeley Heights involved co-defendants stopped for a traffic violation on Route 78 West. 

In State v. Winnie Li, of Ridgewood, the State charged defendant with possession of marijuana.   The Court entered a conditional discharge with one-year probation and surcharges of $800.

In State v. Christopher Hou, of Flushing New York, the State charged defendant with possession of marijuana.   The Court entered a conditional discharge with one-year probation and surcharges of $800.

The Berkeley Heights and New Providence Shared Municipal Court convenes every other Thursday in the New Providence Municipal Center, located at 360 Elkwood Ave.  The next court date is January 19, 2012.
