Mayor Reminds All to Attend Mountainside PAL Father’s Day Car Show

Borough Council Encourages Attendance to Girl Scout Memorial Day Event

At an efficient monthly meeting, the Mountainside Borough Council made community announcements in addition to usual business.

Mayor Paul N. Mirabelli reminded residents that the PAL will hold their Second Annual Bring Your Ride to Mountainside Car and Motorcycle Show on Father’s Day, Sunday June 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Registration will begin at noon, and cars will line up starting at the corner of New Providence Rd. and Mountain Ave. The event serves as a fundraiser for lung and breast cancer research.

Borough Administrator James Debbie Jr. added that the Girl Scouts of Mountainside will hold their annual Memorial Day service at noon on Monday, May 30th.

In addition to the announcements, the Borough Council appointed Albert Del Conte III to the part time position of Senior Citizen Handyman, due to a vacancy in the position.

The council also approved a salary adjustment for the Finance Clerk Position, after the year-end review and recommendation from the A&E Committee.

Finally, the council passed the second reading of an ordinance to appropriate $7,000 from the capital improvement fund for the replacement of an air conditioning unit for the second floor of the municipal building.
