FDU poll shows Westfield resident trailing by 10 points.

A poll shows U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez (D-Hoboken) beating state Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean Jr. (R-Westfield) by 10 points in a hypothetical 2012 U.S. Senate race. The poll, by Fairleigh Dickinson University, shows that Menendez would beat Kean 44% - 34% in an election held today. Menendez defeated Kean in the 2006 U.S. Senate race. The poll shows Menendez defeating several potential GOP candidates, including Kean, Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and state Sen. Michael Doherty (R-Warren County).
